The construction process all starts with a want or a need that grows into a completed building or renovation. The owner’s vision is discussed with an architect and designs are created, drawings and specifications are completed and submitted for bid to general contractors. Matrix Construction, as a General Contractor, receives the bid invitation and thoroughly examines the building specifications and drawings. Our estimators, Hew King and Holt Ivey, work closely with the design architects to fine tune the plans and clear up any questions that would impact the building process. Then the plans are sent out to our list of qualified and carefully chosen sub-contractors for them to supply pricing on the areas that pertain to their scope of work for construction.
As the sub-contractor bids are received, they are examined to verify that the pricing supplied covers the building specifications correctly. If there are any questions, the bidders are contacted and consulted in order to make sure that their bids are correct. Matrix Construction goes the extra mile to supply a thorough and complete bid to the owner and architect with a solid intact price structure for the building process. Matrix Construction applies meticulous attention to detail during the bid process to price the construction process correctly at the beginning and avoid costly over runs during the building process.
Once a construction project is ready to start, a Project Manager and Site Superintendent are assigned to oversee the project, involving everything from choosing the best subcontractors available to being present on site to carefully oversee the work being accomplished. Upon completion, Matrix Construction takes great pride in the finished product. The quality and integrity of our work is apparent. We have an excellent relationship with area building inspectors and strive to pass every inspection on the first visit.
In addition to the time honored construction bid process noted above, Matrix Construction has changed and grown with the times. Many of our newer projects are starting as a Design and Build process. In this area, our estimating team work closely with the owner from the beginning. We partner with a carefully chosen architectural firm and work with the client throughout all phases of the construction process. Our team’s quality driven attention to detail help create a meticulous set of drawings and specifications ready for the construction process.
Matrix Construction’s team of professionals cover every area of the design build process, working closely with city and county permit and licensing departments to ensure our clients have a finished product of which they can be proud. Our reputation is on the line, so the job needs to be done Right!
